Call for Abstracts and Manuscripts: VI Meeting of the International
Society for the History of Medicine

Barcelona (Spain) 7-10 September 2011

May 31 2011 Deadline for manuscript submission

Theme: Earth and Medicine
Languages: English, French, Spanish and Catalan
The Scientific Committee will elaborate the Scientific Program based upon
the contents of the accepted abstracts.

The abstracts, full manuscripts, oral and poster presentations may be
written in English, French, Spanish or Catalan
Abstracts must be submitted in electronic form
The title must be written in capitals
Affiliation of author(s)
Total length of abstracts not to exceed 250 words
Please include valid contact address, telephone and email for correspondence
Please, specify mode of presentation, oral or poster (80 x 100 cm), either
Prizes will be awarded:

* For the best oral presentation
* For the best poster presentation
* For the best poster design

Presentations will be displayed in sessions according to the selected topic
No abstract will be accepted until at least one author has registered

Manuscripts shall be peer reviewed before acceptance for publication. The author(s) are requested to present a full text of their presentations whether oral or poster according to the following specifications.
Manuscript format:
Title (printed in upper case)
Author(s) (underline presenting author's name)
Affiliation of author(s)
Contact address and e-mail of presenting author
12 Times New Roman, size A4 paper, maximum pages 15, double space with 2.5 cm margins all around, including diagrams and graphics (no more than two).
Diagrams and graphics, whether coloured or black and white, are to be set in the text in the position the author(s) decide.
All accepted abstracts and full manuscripts will be available to delegates on CD with the Meeting documents package. Only selected manuscripts by the Scientific Committee and the Editorial Board will be published in Analecta Historico Medica.

Oral presentations will be categorized in sessions according to subjects
Data show presentations must be in Microsoft Office Power Point
Duration of presentation 15 min (includes 3 min for questions)
Prizes will be awarded for the best oral presentation and for the best power point design

Poster size: 80cm (width) x 100cm (height)
Title and author must be shown in the upper part of the poster
Font size must be suitable for reading from a distance of one meter
The presenting author(s) must indicate on the poster the time of their
presence in the vicinity of their posters for interaction with interested delegates
Author(s) are advised to prepare handouts of their posters
Special poster discussion rounds will be included in the scientific
program daily
Posters will be displayed for the complete duration of the scientific
programme
The organizers are not responsible for any poster not removed before the end of the scientific programme and for any damage that might occur to any of the posters during their display
