STEP - Science and Technology in the European Periphery

The Turkish web site www.bilimtarihi.org aims to introduce the history of science and technology studies held in Turkey and to announce publications, conferences, symposiums, exhibitions and such activities to the public. It intends to facilitate the communication among professionals and amateurs interested in HST. The website gives access to the table of contents of newsworthy Turkish books recently published and to those of some older editions of HST books printed in Turkey. It also provides access to the table of contents of the journal Osmanli Bilimi Arastirmalari / Studies in Ottoman Science. Abstracts in English of the articles published in the journal are also available. The web site is created and run by Feza Günergun and Kaan Ata, both affiliated with the Department of the History of Science, Istanbul University.
