CFP: 13th Conference of the Society for the History of East Asian Science, Technology, and Medicine - Hefei (China), July 25-29, 2011

The International Society for the History of East Asian Science, Technology, and Medicine (ISHEASTM) will hold its Thirteenth International Conference (13th ICHSEA) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, Anhui, July 25-29, 2011. The central theme for the Thirteenth Conference will be “Science and Cultural Heritage”. In addition to providing a
forum for the latest scholarship in the history of science, technology and medicine in East Asia as usual, the Organising Committee
of the 2011 conference encourages the discussion on the exploration, protection, conservation and contemporary significance of
the tangible and intangible heritage related to the development of science, technology and medicine in East Asia. The Organising
Committee would welcome proposals for panels on issues of particular interest to groups of scholars.
USTC is one of China's great universities, with vigorous activity in the history of science. Anhui is a fascinating province with a rich
cultural history and great scenic beauty - including Mount Huang, to which we are organising a post-conference trip. You are encouraged to make a date in your diary now, and to use the early-bird registration facility as soon as it
opens. For details please see the attached "Call for Papers".
Yours with best wishes,
Shi Yunli
