Kammeyer Grants in the History of Science and Technology

Please bring this funding opportunity to the attention of any students and faculty whom you think would be interested in applying.

Applications are invited for proposals from University of Washington graduate students and faculty requesting up to $1000 toward the costs of research connected to scholarship in the History of Science and Technology, with preference given to proposals dealing with the history of cosmography and astronomy. Research expenses may include travel (e.g., for archival research or collaboration), services (e.g., charges for copying and imagery), or equipment (e.g., specialized software or hardware). Support for attending conferences is not eligible.

Applications should consist of a one page proposal explaining the use of funding, including a brief budget, and should make clear how the project is related to current and significant scholarship in the history of science and technology. The proposal, plus a CV of no more than two pages, should be submitted by January 24, 2011, in four hard copies, to:

Simon Werrett, Kammeyer Awards, Department of History, 315 Smith Hall, Box 353560, Seattle WA 98195.

A committee will assess the proposals and inform all applicants soon after the deadline.
