Minneapolis (1995), Calgary (1997), Pavia (1999), Denver (2001), Winnipeg (2003), Leeds (2005),
Calgary (2007) and Notre Dame (2009). The Greek HPS&ST conferences have been held
biennially since 2001 in Thessaloniki (2001), Athens (2003, 2007), Patras (2005) and Nicosia
(2007). Between 80-280 academics and teachers have contributed to these Greek meetings; they
have been the basis of a number of Science & Education special issues (vol.14 no.7-8, vol.17 no.6,
vol.18 no.9).
The IHPST conferences are attended by about 200 researchers and teachers. Usually about 25-30
countries are represented at each conference. The conferences have been very well received, with
participants remarking that no other scholarly conference brings together the spread of
philosophers, historians, educators, scientists and teachers that the IHPST conference does. They
are typified by the pleasing mix of serious scholarship and collegial
